About the workshop:
Insurance companies ready to embrace innovation still need a framework to organize and drive innovation efforts and to manage the ideas that power innovation. Whether starting a new program, or looking for a way to get efforts unstuck or back on track, a systematic approach to innovation can pay dividends.
In the first session of this program, a May 9 webinar, attendees learned the principles and fundamental elements of a world-class insurance innovation system that has delivered significant ROI to companies that are using it—including some of the largest and most successful insurance innovators in the world. Adoption of this approach will provide the building blocks to innovate and scale new products, services, and even markets for profitable growth.
On June 28, 2018, we will conduct the second part of this program: a live insurance innovation workshop at the UI Labs Innovation Center in Chicago. The live workshop will build on the foundational information provided in the webinar and in an interactive format allow attendees to broadly explore strategic opportunity areas for innovation, and define boundaries that will guide and focus innovation efforts.
This will be a more in-depth review of the critical early steps that are a foundation for an effective innovation program: selecting innovation domains, setting boundaries and discovering and prioritizing strategic opportunity areas. Not taking the time for this advance planning is often what trips up innovation efforts by organizations.
Learning objectives of the live workshop:
- Gain the knowledge to confidently answer the question 'Where to Begin?'
- Identify strategic opportunity areas around which your organization can focus and explore innovation opportunities.
- Come away with ideas that you can bring back to your organization to guide development of innovative products, services and markets.
- Build a foundation for innovation success in your organization.
